Getting Started with knowledgeOS

March 25, 2026

knowledgeOS is OrbitShift's intelligence layer for capturing, organizing, and retrieving your organization's collective knowledge — instantly.

It addresses friction in enterprise sales by enabling natural language queries against internal knowledge bases instead of manual document searching.

The system learns from RFPs, case studies, proposals, FAQs, battlecards, and presentations, enriching them with AI context. knowledgeOS turns scattered tribal knowledge into a living, searchable, and action-ready intelligence system — always up to date, always source-verified.

Key Use Cases

knowledgeOS supports the following core use cases:

  • RFP / RFI Response Automation — Instant retrieval of relevant past responses
  • Sales & Presales Enablement — Ready-to-share answers during calls and demos
  • Proposal and Deck Generation — Build tailored content from verified snippets
  • Knowledge Search for SEs & AEs — Complete, cited answers from your knowledge base
  • Internal Onboarding & Training — Self-serve learning from historical assets

How to Build Your Knowledge Base

Step 1: Upload and Connect Sources

Navigate to knowledgeOS → Manage Sources and connect:

  • Drive, SharePoint, or Notion folders
  • Uploaded files (PDFs, PPTs, DOCXs)
  • Past RFP responses, sales decks, FAQs, email templates

knowledgeOS automatically indexes and tags each document by topic, product, industry, and recency.

Step 2: Organize and Verify

Review the Knowledge Graph view showing theme connections. Each asset links to source type, confidence score, and verification date. Admins can flag outdated content or mark verified responses.

Step 3: Enable AI Chat Access

Users query with natural language, for example:

  • "What are OrbitShift's differentiators in enterprise RFPs?"
  • "How does OrbitShift integrate with Salesforce?"
  • "Can I get a deck for Financial Services accounts?"

Generating and Refining Answers

Query Panel

Click Ask knowledgeOS, type your question, and receive a concise response with inline citations. Every answer includes inline citations from your indexed materials.

Refinement tools:

  • Summarize — shorter, executive-level versions
  • Expand — detailed explanations or proposals
  • Format — paragraphs, bullet summaries, or slide outlines
  • Save as Draft — add to your proposal or deck workspace

Building Knowledge Briefs

After generating answers, you can save them as reusable briefs:

  1. Click Save as Brief after generating answers
  2. Add metadata (account name, opportunity, use case)
  3. Attach related assets
  4. Share with team members or link to a CRM opportunity

Example: A query about "data privacy in EU regions" generates an AI response and verified snippets → Brief tagged under "Compliance / EU" → Shared with presales for RFP sections.

Presentation and Content Builder

knowledgeOS includes a built-in Deck Builder to assemble presentations fast. Inside your workspace, click Build Presentation, choose slides and content snippets, rearrange, add notes, and export to PPT or PDF. Every slide links to its verified source for synchronized future updates.

Collaboration & Sharing

  • Push answers and briefs to Slack or MS Teams
  • Share as "Smart Cards" with embedded context and source links
  • Enable asynchronous collaboration with reviewer comments
  • Connect with accountOS, rfpOS, and marketingOS modules
